Sotheby’s in New York will hold its Magnificent Jewels auction on April 25 in Manhattan. The highlight of the sale is the Rojtman Diamond a yellow, 107.46 carat diamond. Also being auctioned is the Golden Maharaja Diamond which was shown at the Paris World Fair of 1937 and was later loaned to the American Museum of Natural History for 15 years by its owner, Ella Friedus.
The sale also features diamond jewelry and colored gemstones by Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Harry Winston. The Sotheby’s scheduled public viewing is from April 19-24 at 1334 York Avenue in New York.

Follow-up: The estimate was $1.5 to $2 million. It ended up selling for $1,920,000. The stone was bought by Graff of London.
