The last 605-horsepower Porsche Carrera GT, was built at Porsche’s Leipzig factory on May 6th. The Carrera GT outputted 605 hp at 8,000 rpm from a 5.7-liter V10. The Carrera GT’s performance was incredible. The car can leap from zero to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 205 mph. Porsche also noted that it sold more Carrera GTs than the total combined production of the McLaren F1, the Ferrari Enzo and the Pagani Zonda. The Carrera GT first went on sale on Jan. 31, 2004.

There’s an upshot to the discontinuation of the Carrera GT; every one that’s left on the planet, that is, not destroyed, increases the rarity and exclusivity of the model. Being that I’ve seen more than one of them on wreckedexotics.com and hate to see these Promethean machines reduced to junk, those still on the road are more uncommon and desirable than before.
I for one am heartbroken. Get rid of the SUV and bring back the Carrera GT!
