The MC12 was the equivalent of the Enzo and the MC12 Corsa is the equivalent of the Ferrari FXX. Maserati have released the MC12 Corsa a performance version of the MC12. The MC12 Corsa like the Ferrari FXX is intended for track use but is fully road legal as well. The MC12 Corsa sports a 6 liter V12 engine capable of producing 755 HP it features a carbon-fiber body and weighs a mere 2,535 pounds. Maserati are not intending the car to be used for competitive racing nor road use but for individuals who enjoy some alone time on the track. This car is valued at the same amount as the Bugatti Veyron and is alot more exclusive than the Veyron as only 12 will be produced.

The funny thing is, the standard MC12 which is an Enzo aside from the body and a few small mods, actually beats an enzo on the track, I wonder if its the same case here. The MC12 was the fastest car ever around the Top Gear test track, and thats an impressive achievment alone.
Tony, the car is being made because the FXX program was an outright success. They determined there was more sales potential, so they are doing the same thing with the MC12 which they did with the Enzo. In other words (go figure), they are doing because there is money to be made.
No car firm with its head on straight would ever go millions of dollars out of the way because a totally subjective entertainment television program says one thing or another…
Actually, the Veyron costs about 5 million pounds to make each one. They loose money but the advertising and technology extracted can yield big profits in the long run.
It only costs 5 million pounds if you spread the entire development cost across the run of cars they are making. Since they announced they wrote off the cost of R&D, each car costs them significantly less than $5m to produce. You are definitely right about long-term benefits of that research, though
Dear anyone who reads this, the MC12 Corsa is probably faster than the FXX. Also the Bugatti is faster because it is turboed, and if you turbo this it woud probably be amazing too. The Maserati is probably my fave car, so most would say im giving it all the credit because i like it, but thats not true. I’ve been to every site on the Corsa, and none have said the top speed or acceleration from 0-60mph so i really cant tell anyway.(p.s) if anyone knows the site that states the top speed, please tell me by writing one of these letters, and posting them to this site, as i have.
oh yes, um i also am trying 2 find out about the FXX also.:)
