Spied a Pan on the Autobahn today near Heidelbronn, Germany. I took a few pictures but I still cannot decide if I like the styling. It is reminicent of a Toyota Supra from the rear but the front is quasi 911. The was lots of tape to hide the total package but I saw enough to have my reservations.

and for those of you who believe this 4 door is going to appeal to the accord and camery lovers then think again..i don’t know many accord and camery lovers willing to dish out 70,000-100,000 US which will most likely be the price here at a minimum dor a 4 door family car. The exclusivity will still be there. And to put porshe in the ranks of ferrari and lambo is a bit far stretched considering many can get a porsche in the US for about $150,000 or less compared to lambo and ferrari at $250,000 – 500,000

anyone who doesn’t like this car has no class!
this is one of the nicest 4 door luxury-sports models i’ve seen and if it drives like any of the other porsches it will be a dominant competitor to the mercedes and bmw models that are oversaturated in the market today

Porsche AG needs to get back to its roots and concentrate on making a better sports car, specifically, its two seat mid-engined Cayman product line, not infinite versions of the fundamentally flawed 911, not its Cayenne SUV, and for heavens sake, not a sedan.

You anti-Porsche people take yourselves way too seriously. These are cars…cars meant primarily for the fun of driving. If it was a matter of pure utility no one would spend this much to get from point A to point B. If you don’t like it…don’t buy it. I can’t wait to test drive one…why not?

I do not like the way Porsche is heading. I was in the Factory in March of ‘99 when the tour guide told me that Porsche was in the process of building an SUV. Then and there I thought to myself, ‘What is Porsche doing to themselves?’ Being an owner of two Porsche, I liked the fact of exlusivity. First an SUV, now a 4 door saloon car? Come on Porsche. Instead of a thorough bread race car company, they’ve joined the ranks of BMW, VW, Audi, and Mercedes. What’s to say they won’t start making trucks? Porsche is all to common now in my opinion. Long gone are the days when seeing a Porsche on the road ment something special. Porsche has lost that. Ferrari, Lambo still have that awe about them when seing one fly by on a highway. Could you imagine Ferrari making a 4 door saloon, or even worse, an SUV? Come on. Certainaly with the SUV and 4 door saloon no family man has to abate to a mini van, something my wife and I will never diminish to.
This is a mark people. A mark of Porsche going to the way side of sports cars, and entering the Camery, and Accord domain. I can’t stand to watch. The market is over flooded with Porsche.

It’s troubling to see porsche becoming just another common car manufacturer by building sedans and suvs. They seem to be moving away from their sports car heritage to expand their market share. Last year the best selling 911 was the slowest, heaviest, and least agile version. The one shinning light the mid-engine cayman S.
