Austria’s Diamond Aircraft is well known in the small aircraft world for its single and twin engine planes featuring composite airframes, integrated avionics and diesel engines. However Diamond Aircraft is also the first European company to enter the VLJ (Very Light Jet) market with its D-Jet. Its single engined D-Jet is aimed at the “self fly” segment of the private jet market. The D-Jet can carry a maximum of 5 passangers including 2 pilots and has a range of 2500 km. The first deliveries of the aircraft are expected to take place in 2008.
